McCord Memorial Library’s Poetry Contest
Rules
Submit your poetry to mccordmemorial@gmail.com or in person
RULES:
- Poems must be sent to mccordmemorial@gmail.com by deadline
- Emailed poems must be submitted as .doc, .docx, or .pdf
- Poems submitted in person MUST BE TYPED no handwritten poems will be accepted
- Poetry can be written in any poetic style and on any subject.
- A poem in its entirety must be an original work by the person entering the contest.
- Up to 2 poems per person permitted.
- Poems will be judged by age group
- Poems containing language that is vulgar, offensive, or inappropriate will not be accepted.
- Put contact details in email submission.
By entering this contest you agree to allow McCord Library to publish your poems in the Books ‘n Banter and online (library website & social media)
You many submit poems anonymously but no prizes will be distributed to you if you win

Past poetry contests
May 1 – 31 all are welcome to vote on entries in person or online
In June Books ‘n Banter winners in each category will be announced
