Memorials

Would you like to honor a loved one who has passed? Why not make a memorial donation in their name. If you donate at least $25 a book may be purchased. You can also make a donation directly to our current needs fund or our endowment fund. The current needs fund is used immediately for library related improvements, maintenance, and supplies. Our endowment fund is invested to fund the library for future generations.

When you make a donation please have the contact information for the family of the deceased. If you do not know this information, the funeral director often will. (We send both the one who donated and the family member of the deceased a notice.) <- verify if this is true

Collection updates

Weeding the collection continues. We will continue to weed items, as it is an ongoing process. You might be wondering what happens to weeded books. First, they are saved for one of our two used book sales, hosted by the Friends of the Library. If they aren’t sold in the book sale, they are donated to various other local sellers and organizations. We only throw away books when they are severely damaged or have harmful substances like mold.

Another important collection update! We have moved many memoirs and biographies. In the past these books were all lumped together in 921. Now these books have been moved to other books on similar subjects. For example, if you want a biography about a president, it will be with the other books about presidents. If you want a biography about a baseball legend, it will be with the other baseball books. Hopefully this will make finding the books easier for everyone.
