Library Closures

Now Accepting Used Books

September 8-October 8

  • In preparation for our Fall Used Book Sale, we will start accepting book donations on September 8.
  • Please place ALL donations at the bottom of the stair case at our Park Street entrance. If you need assistance, or cannot take the stairs, please ask a staff member for help.
    • The book sale will be in mid-October during the libraries open hours.

Donation Information:

  • No moldy, stained, or badly damaged books
  • No encyclopedias, textbooks
  • No magazines or newspapers
  • No VHS tapes

Spice Club is Back!

Register at the front desk for our 2026 Spice Club!

  • Looking to try new recipes? Interested in learning about the ingredients in our food? Join the McCord Spice Club! Each month, participants will receive an informational packet that includes recipes and information about that month’s featured spice. You’ll also get a sample of the spice to use in your cooking!
    • Register by September 30 to receive the spices for October-December. There’s no cost!
    • Registrants from previous years will not roll over to this year.

Street Parking Notice– 09/23-9/28

  • Please be aware that due to the Wine Festival, Park Street will have limited to no parking September 23-28. Please call us if you need assistance collecting your holds or unable to make it to the library during this time due to road closures.

DIY Fall Door Mat Workshop

  • Monday, Sept 14 @ 10:00 -OR- Tuesday, Sept 15 @ 4:00
    • Cost: $5 | Pre-Register and pay by Sept. 10
    • Make a custom fall doormat at this hands-on program. Each participant will receive a natural doormat to decorate with fall- themed templates.

Quilling Class

  • Tuesday, Sept. 22 | 10:00 OR 4:00
    • Cost: $5.00 | Pre-register by Sept. 17
      • This class is perfect for novice or beginner quillers! Practice your quilling squills while making a fall-themed card.
      • Participants will learn basic steps of quilling and have the opportunity to apply them while making their card.

Tamarack Wildlife Wings and Scales

Saturday, Sept. 19 @ 11:00

  • Join us at the library for this exciting and educational visit from Tamarack Wildlife Center. Participants will learn about wildlife and get the opportunity to see animals up close.
  • All ages are welcome!

September Take & Make Kits

  • Zentangle Leaves
    • Color or Make Your Own

Teen Tuesdays @ 4:00

  • Join us each week for a hands-on craft or activity. Open to ages 12 and up.
  • September craft is color or make your own Zentangle

STEM Club

All Age Program | Mondays @ 4:00

  • All ages are invited to join us each Monday for this hands-on program. Children will have the opportunity to play with various STEM-related toys.
  • Children under 12 should be supervised at all times.

Read and Create

Starts Sept. 16 | Grades K-5

Wednesdays @ 4:00

  • Read and Create is an elementary level story time that incorporates STEAM-related activities with longer picture book stories.
  • The first Wednesday of the month will feature a Book vs. Movie activity. No need to have previously watched the movie to participate!

Get Involved!

Friends of McCord Library

3:00 on the 1st Wednesdays of Each Month

  • The Friends of McCord Library support the library by coordinating our bi-annual used book sales, organizing the February Speaker Series, and volunteering in many other ways!
  • Joining the Friends of the Library is a great way to get involved and support the library. Membership is free! We wuld love to see you join us at our meetings.

North East Wine Fest

  • The North East Chamber of Commerce is seeking volunteers for the 2026 Wine Festival. If you would like to volunteer, make sure you list “McCord” in the comments. For each volunteer, we get a portion of the Wine Fest proceeds.
