April is Autism Awareness Month!

  • Be sure to pick up a resource booklet for autistic individuals and parents of autistic children. These booklets can be found at the back square table between the YA and Large Print Fiction shelves and on the table under the map

Friends of the Library Used Book Sale

  • April 13 – 18
    • The Friends of the Library Spring Book Sale will be April 13-18 during regular library hours. Saturday, April 18 will be $1 bag day. The sale will include a wide variety of used books, audiobooks, puzzles, movies, and more! All items included in the sale are donated or discarded library items.
    • The library accepts cash or check payments. Small bills and change are preferred.

AAPI Reading BINGO Challenge

  • April 27 – May 30
    • Asian American and Pacific Islander Heritage month is celebrated each May. We are challenging patrons to learn more about AAPI month by participating in our mini BINGO Challenge.
    • Each completed row will count as an entry in our prize drawing. A full bingo card will earn you an extra entry! The prize is a Plum Blossom Lego set and a $15 gift card to Tia’s Book Cellar.

Tea Blend Workshop

  • May 11 @ 10:30
    • Join us for our tea workshop where you’ll learn the basics of tea blending. Each participant will craft their own blend. An optional sampling will take place at the end of the workshop. Each participant will make and take home a custom tea blend. (Ages 17+)
      • Cost: $5.00 | Pre-Register and pay by May 5

National Library Week

  • Stop by the library on Tuesday, April 21 for Patron Appreciation Day. “Find Your Joy!” by taking home a treat from our table upstairs as a thank you from the library to all of our patrons.

STEAM Club

  • Mondays at 4:00
    • Ages 6+
      • Join us every first Monday of the month for STEAM Club. We will have activities available such as Beebots, Marble Runs, Legos, and more!

Teen “Crafternoon”

  • Thurs. April 16 @ 4:00
    • Join us for one or both of our two sessions to make collage/ransom note poetry.

Blackout Poetry

  • All Ages Program
    • Thursday, April 23 @ 4:00
      • What is black out poetry? It is a form of found poetry or erasure poetry that finds poetry in an existing text and “erases” text around certain words to create your own poems.
      • All ages are welcome to join us at 4:00 for this program on Thursday, April 23 at 4:00. This program can be done in the library or you can take a page home with you.

Therapy Dogs and Spring Crafts

  • All Ages Welcome!
    • April 25 @ 2:00
      • Join us for a special all ages program as we welcome a few therapy dogs and make some crafts!

What is Dial-A-Story?
  • Dial-a-Story is a library program that is available 24/7! Call 814-347-8318 to hear a story read to you. Stories are available in English and Spanish. English stories change weekly and the Spanish story changes monthly.
  • Call as many times as you want!
