Story Time Puppet Show with Craft

  • All Ages
  • Join us for story time with Amber and her puppet Maisie. Stay afterwards for play and crafts.

Election Day

  • McCord Library is a polling place for the Borough of North East. Polls are open from 7am-8pm. The business hours for McCord remain the same. Polls at McCord are located in the Multi-Purpose Area on the Lower Level. There is no story time on Election Day.

Youth Art Show Opening Reception

  • Inviting all family, friends, and community members to view our Youth Art Show entries!
  • Come browse the art on display in the library and see which piece won ribbons!
  • Light refreshments will be provided.

Spice Club

  • Sign up for the 2025 McCord Spice Club. Each month participants will receive a sample of that month’s featured spice, along with a printed packet full of recipes and information featuring the spice.
  • To receive the next spice, register no later than November 26.
  • Spices will be ready the second week of each month.

Storytime

  • Preschool: Tuesday & Wednesday 11:00-11:30
  • Toddlers: 11:00-11:30
  • Story time:
    • Includes a story & activity or craft.
    • Free to attend, no preregistration required.
    • Adult must stay with child

Read and Create

  • Wednesdays at 4:00
  • Grades K-5
  • Join us after school from 4-4:30 each Wednesday for an interactive program for kids in grades K-5! We’ll enjoy a read-aloud followed by themed activities, games, or crafts based on the book.
  • The first meeting of each month features a “Book vs. Movie” showdown where we read a book, watch a short clip, and play a game to test your knowledge! This month will be “Where the Wild Things Are”
  • (No need to have watched the movie.)

STEAM Club

  • Mondays at 4:00
  • Ages 6+
  • Join us every first Monday of the month for STEAM Club. We will have activities available such as Beebots, Marble Runs, Legos, and more!

Teen “Crafternoon”

  • Saturday, Nov. 1 @ 1:00
  • Thurs. Nov 16 @ 3:30
  • Join us at one of our two sessions and learn how to make your own

Fall Book Sale Update

  • Thank you to all who donated books and participated in our book sale. Our sale was a success, raising around $1,900 that help the library fund programs, new books, supplies, and other necessities for the library.

What is Dial-A-Story?

  • Dial-a-Story is a library program that is available 24/7! Call 814-347-8318 to hear a story read to you. Stories are available in English and Spanish. English stories change weekly and the Spanish story changes monthly.
  • Call as many times as you want!

Upcoming Events

  • The Art of Tea Blending
  • December 13 @ 10:30
  • Join us for this hands-on workshop where you’ll learn the basics of tea blends. Each participant will craft their own blend. A brief sampling will take place at the end of the workshop.
  • Each participant will make and take home a custom tea blend. (Ages 17+)
  • Cost: $5.00 | Pre-Registration Opens Nov. 17
