Curbside Pick-up Information:

  • The elevator will be out of service from August 25-September 22. During this time, we will have Curbside Pick-up available for library holds. To utilize this service, make sure your holds are placed the day before pick-up by using our online catalog, calling, or emailing the library to place holds. When using curbside pick-up, a staff member will meet you at the Park Street entrance, ask for your library card or photo ID, check out your items, and bring your items to you.

        • Tue. Aug 26: 9:30-2:15
        • Wed. Aug 27: 2:30-5:30
      • September 2-20
        • Mondays & Wednesdays: 2:00-6:00
        • Tuesdays & Thursdays: 11:00-3:00
        • Saturdays: 1:00-4:00

Closing Hours

  • August 25-30: Closed for Construction
  • September 1: Labor Day

Erie Gives Day is on August 12!

  • Erie Gives is a great time to give to many non-profit organizations in Erie County. McCord Library is one of the organizations that you can donate to by: phone, mail, in-person, or online. One of our goals this year is our Elevator Modernization Project!
  • Here is more information on the different ways you can give:
    • Online: at eriegives.org from Midnight to Midnight on August 12
    • In-Person: Make one check payable to “The Erie Community Foundation” and fill out the Check Donation Form for the organization(s) you would like to give to with the amount you want to give to each.
    • By Phone: call 814-454-0843 from 8am -8pm on August 12
    • By Mail: Follow the instructions for in-person donations and mail the check and donation form to 459 West 6th Street Erie, PA 16507 before August 5
    • Check Donation Forms can be found at https://www.eriegives.org/info/ways-to-give or ask the front desk for one.

Spice Club is Back!

Sign up for this years spice club. From the months of September through December, one spice will be available for members to pick-up throughout the month. Each month will be a new surprise spice. An information packet will be included with information about the spice and select recipes using the spice sample provided.

    • Join violinist and vocalist Abigail Hakel Garcia as she gives insight to the realities of life as a working musician. She’ll share personal experiences, challenges, and what it really takes to build a career in music.
  • Trivia Night – Aug 5 @ 6:00
    • Join us for trivia night! This summer we have 3 trivia nights. Up to 6 people can be on a team. Pre-register through August 4. Gift card prizes for the winning team!

STEAM Club is on Mondays at 1:00

  • August 4, 11, and 18
  • Ages 6-12
  • During the summer, STEAM Club will take place every Monday with different STEAM related activities at 1:00.

What is Dial-A-Story?

  • Dial-a-Story is a library program that is available 24/7! Call 814-347-8318 to hear a story read to you. Stories are available in English and Spanish. English stories change weekly and the Spanish story changes monthly. Call as many times as you want!
