Color Our World Summer Reading Program

June 9-August 9

Come down to the library to register for our Summer Reading program from June 9- July 31! There are prizes and activities for ALL ages. There will also be weekly programs for teens and children. Stop by the library for more information.

  • Children: Register and you’ll receive a reusable library bag containing a Summer Art Bingo, Read Through the Rainbow Challenge, Art Supplies, and a McDonald’s Coupon, and a free book to take home with you! Receive prizes by checking out books and returning your bingo card.
  • Teens: Register and you’ll receive a free book, a coupon, and an activity journal. Complete the journal entries to earn prizes. Each entry also counts as an entry in the grand prize.
  • Adults: Register and you’ll receive 5 Reading Entry Tickets, a paintbrush pen, and a Summer Reading Challenge Card. Enter tickets for a chance to win weekly prizes. Weekly entries will also be entered in the grand prizes drawing at the end of the summer.

Upcoming Adult Programs

  • Esther Hong – June 18 @ 5:30
    • Join us for a special talk and demonstration by local Korean watercolor artist Esther Hong. She’ll share insights into the unique aspects of Korean watercolor and showcase some of her beautiful work. No pre-registration required.
  • Trivia Night – June 24 @ 6:00
    • Join us for trivia night! This summer we have 3 trivia nights. Up to 6 people can be on a team. Pre-register through June 23. Gift card prizes for the winning team!
  • Coloring for Grown-Ups – 11:00-1:00
  • June 16 and June 30
    • Unwind and get creative! Adults are invited to drop in, relax, and enjoy the calming benefits of coloring. No registration required – just bring you imagination.

STEAM Club

  • Mondays at 1:00
  • Ages 6-12
    • During the summer, STEAM Club will take place every Monday with different STEAM related activities.

Summer Take and Make Kits

There will be no new take and make kits during the summer. All extra kits from throughout the year will be available in the Young Adult section of the library to take home.

Teen “Crafternoon”

We will have many fun activities happening throughout the summer for teens to participate in. At the end of summer, we will continue our regular “Crafternoon” activities.

What is Dial-A-Story?

Dial-a-Story is a library program that is available 24/7!

  • Call 814-347-8318 to hear a story read to you. Stories are available in English and Spanish. English stories change weekly and the Spanish story changes monthly. Call as many times as you want!

1000 Books Before Kindergarten

Ask for a bag and registration form at the main desk.

  • For each 100 books you read, receive a sticker and move your name along the tracker wall located downstairs by the elevator. Receive a free book when you reach 1,000 books!
  • After every 100 books parents or guardians can take a picture by the milestone posters.
