Population through the Ages
Pennsylvania’s elderly population (age 65 and over) grew at 20 times the rate of Pennsylvania’s general population from 2010 to 2016. Persons age 65 years and over accounted for 17.4 percent of Pennsylvania’s population in 2016, up from 15.6 percent in 2010.
